Trauma occurs when distressing events overwhelm your ability to process emotions or regulate your body’s responses, leaving a lasting impact on your mind, body, relationships, and daily functioning. It can happen at any age and often manifests in various ways, such as:

  • Negative self-thoughts: Believing you didn’t do enough, blaming yourself, or feeling unworthy of love and connection.
  • Physical symptoms: Experiencing unexplained aches, chronic pain, or autoimmune sensitivities.
  • Emotional impacts: Feeling hyper-vigilant, constantly on edge, emotionally depleted, or fluctuating between these states.
  • Relationship challenges: Difficulty trusting others, fear of vulnerability, overreacting to perceived criticism, or feeling disconnected in relationships.
  • Work-related difficulties: Struggling to manage stress, experiencing burnout, trouble concentrating, or feeling overwhelmed in professional environments.
Trauma can deeply affect every aspect of life, including emotional well-being, physical health, relationships, and work functioning. Trauma-focused therapy can help you identify and address these challenges, empowering you to heal, build resilience, and thrive in all areas of life.
